Outfit of the Day: Black Monochrome

Hey guys!

I have taken advantage of the winter break in full force, no exaggeration here. I took the opportunity to catch up with all of my friends, which I am completely booked for everyday of the break. It is the perfect time since I have friends residing in other cities for the rest of the year and due to the holidays everyone is here for the break.

I decided to wear this outfit when I went to go hang out with all my close friends. For some reason, I am into the colour black for this season and I've been wearing several black ensembles non-stop for the month of December. It is a look that can easily look put together and trendy at the same time by simply just pairing all the black items I have in the wardrobe. Also beanies just became an everyday staple in my closet since I am obsessed with hats in general. I feel the hat just ties the whole outfit together, whether it is a fedora, beret, floppy hats. As the rule of thumb when wearing an all-black outfit is just to style different textures, which I have done with the leather jacket, knitted sweater, and a jersey skirt. To soften this tough look, I added my black heart chain bag I got from Asos to add some girly-element. Here is the look :)

Shopping Haul - eBay

Hey guys!

I created a post of all the items I've recently picked up on eBay and especially for those of you who are looking to be stylish and yet not break the bank... This post is for you. Some of these items are inspired on the runway or looks I captured on the streets and thought these pieces could make any basic look a little bit more special. I will go through each item in details, like costs and where you can find it:

1. These double pearl earrings are inspired by the Dior Pearl earrings, a stunning standout piece on its own it will look great with a lace outfit, or pretty much anything. There only $1.15 on eBay, which is a fraction of the cost of the Dior earrings. Can find them here.

2. This choker necklace is a piece that can transform a simple outfit with a hint of grunge and are inexpensive. They can be purchased from Dollerama, but of course if there's no Dollerama around, you can get it for a buck on eBay. You can find it in various colours and style, and can probably get it cheaper if you bid. Can find it here.

3. Sunglasses are one of my favourite accessories to pair especially when I'm on the go. It makes you look chic, effortless and it protects your eyes; a triple whammy. These leopard print cat-eye sunnies are time-less and they also have these shades in different colour, which I scored for a 89 cents. If you're like me who constantly loses their sunglasses or breaks them, then inexpensive sunglasses are the way to go. Can find it here.

4. A classic black beret is what I needed to add a Parisian vibe to my looks. I am obsessed with Paris, so it was a no brainer, getting a beret will add the final touches. Especially for the winter season, a cute hat like this can be worn with any coats. It was only $2.50 and now I am tempted to purchase other colours. Can find it here.

5. I am absolutely obsessed with this skirt and how I can take basic pieces and make it so chic! This grey skirt can be paired with a white shirt and a leather jacket and it will instantly make the outfit stylish. It was $7.11 and can be found here.

6. This watch is inspired by the Casio gold watch and I didn't want to invest in the actual watch since I don't plan on wearing it everyday but occasionally. So I find the dupe on eBay for $2.33 and this accessory also makes any casual outfit a bit more interesting. A plain tee paired with black jeans and this watch will make a great ensemble. This watch is a standout piece because of the gold colour and paired with basic outfit will add just the right pizzazz. Can find it here.

7. This has been on my list for a very long time, this classic faux leather baseball cap which is also a great accessory to make any outfit a bit sporty. The sporty trend is totally in and so pairing this cap with any outfit will do the trick. This is a unisex cap, so anyone can totally pull it off! I got it for $6.63 and can be found here.

eBay is a great place to shop for accessories or pieces you want to experiment with because there are inexpensive. Although one of downfall from shopping on eBay (especially the inexpensive stuff) is the shipping time. Most of the pieces I have purchased are from China with free shipping which means you can expect your product to be shipped anywhere from one month to two months.

Nonetheless do read the description carefully since the pictures can sometimes differ from the actual product and sizing can vary. I find sizes from China run a lot smaller in comparison to the standard sizes of North America, so make sure to buy a size or 2 bigger. Anyways I have two final exams to study for! So I have to go and study now, and good luck for those of you who are doing your finals! :)

Outfit of the Day: The NewYorker

Hey lovelies,

How is everyone doing? I am psyched the weekends near since it was a long and stressful week. My final exams are near, within less than a month. The pressure is on, several conflicts are arising from group projects and I feel like I am off track on everything. You can probably compare the blog posts I have written from the summer to now and most of you can tell that I am becoming more negative. It is difficult to have a positive outlook while being a full-time student and having to juggle so many other commitments. Anyways I am on the search for finding that balance, that is my ultimate goal.

Well I should discuss about my outfit now, I kept it laid back and the weather in Toronto lately has been cloudy and rainy for the whole week. I decided to dress all black to reflect my mood, as the weather is not my cup of tea. When wearing a full black outfit, it is important to play up the different textures and same goes for any monochromatic looks. So I wore my leather jacket, my fuzzy black sweater layered over my chiffon dress and leather tights and some black booties. Here is the look :)

Outfit of the Day: Silver x Mint

Hey lovelies,

EARTH TO MAHA! EARTH TO MAHA. In case you guys were wondering... I am not dead... still here! But I did go M.I.A on all of you guys. School is what happened, I am probably losing hair at this point and I have no social life. It's been a tough month getting back to school, if you're all in university or college like me then you guys can totally relate. And trust me, I would love to blog more often but due to SEVERAL constraints it explains the lack of blogging. But I'm still trying to get a hold of school, be involved in extracurricular, volunteer, and commit to muay thai. OMG suicide, when I decided to join 3 case competitions on top of that, what did I get myself into? Time management (FOR REALZ) is a huge struggle and hopefully I get a hang of it (SOON) since midterms are coming up very soon for me.

NONETHELESS here is my outfit I wore to school and I felt very uninspired today, yesterday, everyday, the day my summer ended. Haha, I apologize for my very depressing post today. Anyways I've stuck to the same colour palette for this whole week, actually all I've been wearing is various shades of grey (total reflection of how I feel during school) and I decided to throw in a colour. I'm totally obsessed with the colour mint, so it was a given I pair all my grey's with mint in today's look. Pardon for the lack of makeup, as I went to my muay thai class today; I dislike wearing makeup when I am drenched in sweat. In other news, I guess it's time for me to get back to studying. But for those of you who are doing your midterms... wish you all the best & GOOD LUCK :) and before I end this post just wanted to let you know I posted a new video 'Fall Lookbook' on my YouTube channel - MahaOnTheGo, check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HONtC-n76M8

Outfit of the Day: Casual Leather

Hey lovelies,

As you can see I'm going through a weird grey phase. This week felt long and dreadful as I had to study and do tedious work all week, so it may explain why I've been sporting several grey outfits throughout the week. My favourite colour combination is pink, grey and black so I ended up with this look I worn this outfit on yesterday's date, where I went out for a walk along Ossington Street and grabbed some pizza. I had my leather skater skirt lying around my drawer for quite some time and decided to give my skirt a chance. I wanted this outfit to be very low key and casual so pairing some converse and a grey sweater; did just that. Well, here's the outfit :)

Summer 2014 Trend: Iridescence Pairing

Hey lovelies,

This is my first pairing of the Iridescence trend which I absolutely adore. I didn't want to do a pairing for a holographic skirt or anything bold in those terms. I have a feeling majority of people will shy away from such bold items but having a holographic bag, shoes or accessories is the way to go in order to incorporate such a flashy piece in your everyday wear. Surprisingly this look actually nailed most of the trends I had listed for the Summer Trend Report (bonus points for me), but don't worry I'll be doing a pairing for each trend :)

I kept the look pretty simple by pairing mostly white clothing pieces in order for that holographic bag to stand out and wearing that window pane blazer as a cape would add a really cool touch. As for the shoes, I kept it minimal with a nude heel just the holographic bag will be the focal point. The necklace of course is optional but I like how some of the colours illuminating on the bag is also found on the necklace which ties the whole outfit together.

Well I hope you guys like my take on the Iridescence trend, let me know in the comments if you want me to style this trend in a more casual way.
