Outfit of the Day: Grunge to the Max

Hey guys!

Just got my midterm marks and ... it was definitely a wake up call. I was pretty much hyperventilating inside, and no I am not those people who complain when they get B's. This is far worse and now I am in the search for a new study method. Okay I am going to stop right there... before this post becomes super negative.

On a positive note I have been filming more looks for my Fall Lookbook 2.0, except I don't think it's exactly fall anymore, feels a bit like winter in Toronto at the moment and also it snowed not so long ago. Anyways, this is one of the looks I filmed for the lookbook, I had this tulle maxi skirt lying around and something about tulle is so fairy like and light and so I wanted to immediately toughen this skirt. Of course me being super obsessed with the flannel tied around the waist thing, so I went for it. Here we go, tied this classic red and black flannel and decided to balance it out with a neutral colour on the top  since the bottom is quite bold on its own. The bowler hat, really had no purpose it was just lying around and I decided to just plop this bad boy on my head. Well here is the look :) I will totally let you know when I'm done with my Fall Lookbook 2.0, which I'm real excited to share with you since the school videos are a more contained version of my style. I can be bold and experiment with unusual pieces which you can't really do at school especially since it would be "too much" for school, so the school look book is much reserved. Anyways hope you guys enjoy the look, details are posted about the outfit after the photos.

Outfit of the Day: The NewYorker

Hey lovelies,

How is everyone doing? I am psyched the weekends near since it was a long and stressful week. My final exams are near, within less than a month. The pressure is on, several conflicts are arising from group projects and I feel like I am off track on everything. You can probably compare the blog posts I have written from the summer to now and most of you can tell that I am becoming more negative. It is difficult to have a positive outlook while being a full-time student and having to juggle so many other commitments. Anyways I am on the search for finding that balance, that is my ultimate goal.

Well I should discuss about my outfit now, I kept it laid back and the weather in Toronto lately has been cloudy and rainy for the whole week. I decided to dress all black to reflect my mood, as the weather is not my cup of tea. When wearing a full black outfit, it is important to play up the different textures and same goes for any monochromatic looks. So I wore my leather jacket, my fuzzy black sweater layered over my chiffon dress and leather tights and some black booties. Here is the look :)

Outfit of the Day: Timeless Stripes

Hey lovelies!

So my life pretty much is sleep, eat, study, study, sleep, and repeat. I totally apologize ahead of time for future posts that may include my rants about university. Not to mention the very least I've been staring at Latvian data for the longest time to find some kind of trend (which I obviously didn't)... I learned quite a bit of Latvian from the assignment and learned to write pointless gibberish over the span of 8 pages. I am glad I got that over with, since I felt like pulling my hair out constantly. But whatever, it's a brand new week now and I got new assignments to worry about, alas the life of a typical university student.

Anyways on to the more exciting part of my blog post, the outfit. So it's Monday, back to school after a nice long weekend, I pretty much seek for comfort. And this striped dress I recently got was probably the best purchase ever; since it honestly feels like I'm wearing pajamas. It's a life goal, really... wearing pajamas outside and have it acceptable. This striped tee dress is over-sized, soft and very comfortable to be in. I just paired the dress with a bunch of long necklaces, tied a denim shirt around my waist and wore my sneakers. All of the pieces I have incorporated to the outfit are timeless and you really can't go wrong wearing stripes, denim shirt or Converse sneakers any time of the year. Well I will see all of you guys in the next post. And on a final note, just wanted to give you guys a heads up that I will be posting a YouTube video very soon and will definitely update you guys about that soon. :)

Outfit of the Day: Mint Beanie

Hey lovelies!

How are you all doing? I know it was Halloween yesterday, did you guys dress up? I didn't dress up as anything but I did happen to go to some haunted houses at Screemers (collective of various haunted houses in one location) and it was actually a lot of fun. Some parts of it admittedly was a bit scary, like the people chasing you with chain saws, and the sets of some of the haunted houses were so cool and were so detailed. My favourite set had to be the Chuckie doll, the whole scene was just shelves and shelves full of random dolls and then a giant Chuckie pops out of no-where, but that set was crazy... there had to be at least more than 200 dolls there. And of course, what kind of Halloween would it be without chocolate? So my friends and I just grabbed some chocolate from the store, which I know... not free chocolate, but we are too old to 'trick or treat' for sweets.

On to my outfit, a causal outfit but the aim was to be warm. My whole outfit has been made around this over-sized cardigan, which frankly it looks sort of like a bath robe to me. I don't think I was going for this look, but nonetheless I paired it with shorts to play off the different lengths. I just created a look with the different shades of black and grey and since I felt it was too monochromatic I decided to add a pop of colour with this mint beanie. The creepers... well I originally would love to wear it with some ankle booties- which I don't own for the time being, but it was cold and raining a lot so wearing platform creepers actually help my shoes avoid getting wet. Cause who likes wearing soaked shoes all day? Well that is the look and I hope all of you have a safe and fun Halloween :)

Outfit of the Day: Plaid Fuzz

Hey lovelies,

Hello! I am back with a new post and it's unbelievable two posts in a row, cha-ching! I am definitely happy with that since I love blogging. Here is a casual school look, nothing special since I think every student has this plaid shirt in their closet. It's a go-to look and you can never go wrong with plaids for school, it's a classic item to have in your wardrobe. I just paired a denim skirt to keep the look casual, paired a fuzzy crop sweater to stay warm and I toughened it up with a leather jacket and some biker boots.

I guess I don't have much to say except that... today was the Toronto Mayoral Elections Day! I was beyond excited to vote since it was my first time voting. I think it's really important everyone votes so the most appropriate mayor is elected which aligns with the city's interests. At exactly 8 pm everyone in Toronto was on their toes to figure out who will be our mayor for the next four years. It's real important we get a dedicated candidate this year since there are several issues that needs to be addressed in Toronto regarding the TTC, construction, social services that needs to be met.

Anyways hope you guys enjoy the rest of the week! Peace :)

Outfit of the Day: Wild Flower

Hey lovelies,

I am feeling a lot better now that midterms are done and over and am finally getting the chance to explore around Toronto. I have a short reading week, it's only 3 days... really, but it's nice to get a break from school. A break much needed, but nonetheless let's move on about my outfit cause everyone knows I can rant about school all day. I think styling this denim jacket was a difficult piece to style, I honestly had my head wrapped around this vintage jacket I picked up a couple of weeks ago from the Salvation Army for $3, what a steal. But it was different, it was definitely an outsider to my closet as it was a foreign item to me. The jacket looked weird on me and especially cause I'm not a petite girl it didn't look right. I decided to distress the denim jacket a little and when it came to styling, the distressed denim gave me the idea to pair it with something soft. Juxtaposition is one of my favourite things to do when styling, soft and hard combination, is what I went for with this look. I paired some red lipstick on and a beanie to complete the look and speaking of DIY's my little studded heart bag is also a DIY :) My sister had this bag abandoned in the back of her closet and I asked if I could take it and I decided to glue-gun a bunch of studs and ta-dah it's a cute bag. Anyways I will allow you to browse more photos of today's look before you get bored with my description.

Outfit of the Day: Peasant Chic

Hey lovelies,

How's it going? So I finished midterms (which I'm pretty sure I bombed everyone of them) total sadness, but yeah also happy I got through them. I'm in second year, and as most graduates told me, second year is the worst. So I'm just trying to get by this year with the mindset of just passing. A break much needed... and I am beyond exhausted but it doesn't matter now that I will have a week off! I decided to get some fresh air since I was studying and pretty much living in the library for the past week or so. Here's my casual outfit I wore to school :) Usually when I'm planning on what to wear to school I choose very laid back pieces. The goal is to look put together yet make it a bit interesting than the typical everyday blue jeans look. I'm not quite sure what theme or style I'm going for, but for some reason I felt the moccasin shoes go well with this peasant top I own. Well here's the look :)
